When I turn on my computer the screen goes black during the windows startup and eventually stops sending a display signal. Fresh install of windows 10 without any updates and then installing newest nvidia drivers.
This lead to me being able to login and use my computer fine until updating windows :. Pre January update I was able to login to my computer in safe mode even if it went to black screen running it normal.
Post January update it freezes at login screen even in safe mode. Hi Cid, There's a possibility that a faulty hardware may be causing this black screen issue. For us to further isolate the issue, we would like to know if your screen still turns black even when you are on safe mode. Performing a fresh install of Windows 10 should have already cleared any software issues.

Pre January update I was able to atleast to login in safe mode, post January update it now freezes at the login screen when in safe mode. We appreciate your response. Specs: cpu - Intel i5 k motherboard- asrock z77 extreme gpu - nvidia Don't remember the rest off the top of my head. Side notes: -Even when in safe mode it would never let me look at control settings and the start menu wouldn't work.
